Factory engineer to Chocolatier: A Chocomax story ​

Hon Wah Chan (better known simply as John) was born and raised in Malaysia. He grew up to lead a successful life as a factory manager for a large company. Wanting to do more for himself and his family,  John decided to pursue his true passion...chocolate.
​Using the precision and craftsmanship he spent years developing in Malaysia, he went on to Belgium to study chocolate making at Callebault College.  John then finally ended his journey in the lively city of Montreal, founding Chocomax on the core principles of quality, care and passion.
Chocomax may have started out as a family-run business, but as John's children continue to grow, so does his business.  It is his hope that with the new generation of Chan's, Chocomax will now be ready to branch out with local partnership, continuing the journey he began in 1990.
